Child Abduction

Elliot and Ari Gourvitz Admitted To United States District Court of Vermont

Elliot and Ari Gourvitz were admitted to the District of Vermont in April 2018.  The firm was hired to represent the Father, a Petitioning parent, pursuant to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects on International Child Abduction.  The Mother abducted her two children from Mexico City, Mexico, to Burlington, Vermont.   Originally admitted pro hac vice, Ari and Elliot after almost a year of litigation, petitioned for full admission and the Court accepted their petition to be admitted and welcomed them to the bar.  The decision of the Court is still pending as to the return of the children to Mexico with further proceeding scheduled.
